	It grand opening of The Cantera took place in the 8th of June 2002. It was organised by Harley Davidson Catalunya and attended by over 500 people including the Mayor of Bellvei who came along to offer his support. The evening began at 9pm. Amongst the various entertainments was a faquir with three serpents of different sizes and colours! Anyone brave enough could have them placed around their shoulders. Fortunately neither the snakes nor the people seemed too frightened by the idea. Later on in the evening the group Heaven Seven took the stage to entertain the crowd with excellent versions of rock and rhythm and blues classics. And for those who had worked up a hunger several stalls sold the typical Catalan sandwiches of bread rubbed with tomato and filled with ‘butifarra’, a special sausage from the region.
