The wood used to make the Cantera bar was
imported from Finland where buildings of this type are more common, resistant
and easy to construct.
The building itself was bought as a ’kit’ and came accompanied
by two Fins who, with the help of members of HDC, managed to put the whole
thing up in under a month. It was then treated and as a special American
touch, the saloon doors were added.
As a result the building is both practical but blends well with the surrounding
environment. The total area of the bar is 124 m2 complete with porch for
those lazy summer evenings |
